If the car has a microphone for the most part it is compatible. Not all early cars were. Some early 5 door and 3 doors were not. CV's are not. You need your phone to be "hands free" which usually means the installation of a cradle. It needs the cradle to work with the on board Saab systems. The phone cradle also must have a mute signal coming off the cradle control. If it doesn't have mute there is no way to make it work. Buy the Saab pigtail wiring harness for the phone. It is moderately priced but it will insure that your warranty stays in effect. The car end of the phone plug is located behind the ACC unit. NO SPLICING of wires is necessary when using the pig tail. Just match them to your cradle wiring harness and you are all set. The Saab web site has a brief description of the muting action and the pinouts. More extensive Service Information is available from dealers (at least in the US). http://www.saabusa.com/community/faqs/general_faq.html#12 Good luck. A phone hooked up this way is simply heaven.
