I have a '91 9000CD turbo that was stalling/cutting off at various times. I replaced one vacuum hose that was cracked but that didn't make much difference. Lately, the car would stall more often and got to be difficult to start when it cut off on its own. I finally took it to a Saab shop and they determined that I had a bad bypass valve. It was late so I decided to bring it back in a couple of days when the mechanic would be in again. In the meantime I changed the oil and put in a new Fram extra guard oil filter. The car started fine at first and shut off twice. After the second time it would not start again. It will tumble sometimes but it won't start. It also backfires even after I have stopped and gotten out of the car. The battery is going down and I don't know what else to do at this point especially since I cannot find any shop manuals on this car. Any help would be appreciated.
