On Sat, 19 Dec 1998 08:31:02 GMT, just as I was about to see how much duct
tape you REALLY need to stop a gerbil from exploding, Riff

Indeed. This conversion is what I did when I found my 90-900T cab. The
dealer had this black one, which was an auto, and another car next to it,
which was a manual. For AUD2000 on top of what I was paying for the black
car, they did a transplant operation. The one thing I did note was that the
following morning was spent with a Tech2 plugged into the console connector.
The 'check engine' light extinguished about 200km later on the interstate
drive home.
I can only presume that the ECU took a while to learn that it was now
coupled to a manual transmission. I'm not sure. I don't have any info on the
ECU so I don't know if it has any EEROM on board to load different engine
maps in it or configurations or such, but it is the same ECU that the car
left the factory with.
