I think you got played. I had the very same thing happen to me. It was the clutch master cylinder. The clutch itself was nowhere near being burnt out, although that's also the first diagnosis I got. I got a second opinion. Total cost, if I remember right, was about $230. I'd be willing to bet that was the problem with yours also and the mechanic picked you to make his $570 boat payment that month. Kurt L.
