Kurt, As long as the car is checked out by a good independent Saab tech and there are no major problems, you should be okay. The difficulty shifting into 5th may be an indication the Shifter Coupler is going bad. The one on my 87 9000S went out this past summer. If that is the case replace it now...Good Luck...I miss Belgium. I was with AFN at SHAPE from 2/80 to 2/84.
