I have an 85T that had a similar problem. It turned out that the pressure regulator on the fuel rail had a leak in the vacuum control. Gas from the regulator would leak into the vacuum line. I had a very hard time finding the problem as there was no external leakage. As the problem got worse, the car developed starting problems which I attributed to the fuel pump. I replaced the pump. Starts improved, but the car bled off fuel pressure when allowed to sit for a time. The leak finally got bad enough to show itself. When I had the regulator vacuum line off, I was able to see a fine spray of gas coming out of the vacuum port. Saab wasn't open when I was working on the car. I was able to get a replacement regulator from NAPA. Good Luck --- David Salo Jeffrey A. Johnson wrote in message <778irp$1dj4nopsamp3.in-tch.com>... >My girlfriend Lori has a 1986 900S.
