I've had the same problem on occasion. When pushed hard it will blink but then mysteriously disappear after re-starting the car. I've had it checked out but the mechanic could never find anything wrong nor could he replicate the problem. I have a theory that it may have to do with the fuel. I only use one brand of gas. It appears to like Exxon 93 octane best. (No, I don't work for Exxon) Two out three times this has occured is when I have put some other brand of gas. Of course, the mechanic denies this is possible.
