It's do-able, but not a lot of fun. And, definitely easiest if you have a 5-speed car to use as parts. Since the auto tranny is totally hydraulic and self contained, it has no real interface with the car, so as far as the car is concerned it could have any tranny under there without changing the rest of the car. You'll need the new tranny, the linkage, the shifter and all the related parts, but that's about it. I know people who have done it on both 900s and 9000s with fine results. The result is definitely worthwhile. The automatic 900s are total dogs what with their 3-speed tranny. The 5-speed makes a world of difference in both performance and fuel economy. If you've got the know how and the budget, I say go for it! -Justin
