Let us know what the condition of your engine is in at 200,000+ miles and then tellus 12,000mile oil changes are ok. I have just turned 200,000 miles on my `86 Accord and it still runs like new.Of course I change the oil every 2400-2800 miles along with the filter (severe service)I use diesel rated oil exclusively (dino) and it still uses less than 1/2 cup of oil between changes and some of my driving is high speed ,(80+mph) on the 400 series highways (same as everyone else) but mostly I use the severe service schedule because I believe oil is the cheapest maintenance you can do on a vehicle.
