Tom, I have an 87 9000S. Mine had the stalling problem on deceleration shortly after I got it. Check your vaccum lines. My Saabtech friend replaced one vaccum line, cleaned the throttle body and throttle plate and reset the basic idle and throttle positions switch. The problem was gone after that. Check your vaccum lines very carefully. I recently had the one from the valve cover to the throttle body replaced and noticed the one from the top of the throttle body to the charcoal canister looked funny. It was dry, brittle and leaking. I cut off the bad part and put a new section in. What a difference. I recommend Berryman B-12 Carb and Choke cleaner for cleaning your throttle body and plate. AutoZone, Pepboys and WalMart carry it.
