Yeah, I have 99LHS and it does lack low end torque. But I out-grew making "hole shots" a long time ago :-) If I floor it from a dead stop I can make my 17 inch Goodyears spin, but I always thought that looked ridiculous in a FWD anyway! It really gets going at the high end tho.... I think my residual is about $17,000. Whether it will be worth that or not in 3 years remains to be seen. At this point I'll let CC worry about it. If the car holds up well I might buy it then. If not I'll see what improvements they have made in 3 years.
