Subject: Re: electric arial stuck in the up position

i have replaced my arial a couple of times. (key advice: when approaching car wash, TURN OFF THE RADIO!) you need to remove the hex nut at the base of your arial, pull out the mast and nylon tail. check the condition of the nylon tail and if still toothy along one edge, feed it back into the antenna motor with the radio on. while feeding, have somebody turn off the radio and see if the tail retracts. (this is also the procedure to follow with a new mast kit (dealer item about $30 - $40 i recall). if the nylon tail still has teeth along one edge and stil doesn't retract, your problems are larger than i can advise you on. good luck! stuart kunkler cincinnati, oh 86 900S 125K when traded 95 900SE (viva la V-6!) redonald wrote in message <36bc08d0.0nopsam1.vip.uk.com>... > when turning the radio on/off the motor whirs away but the arial is stuck >in the up position, it will not push down manually either ~ is there a fix >for this or do I need a new arial tia Richard >900 8i 1988 >900 8t 1987 > >
