Subject: Re: Advice On Fitting CD Autochanger to 900 1989 Turbo

I had much the same problem on my '83 900 Turbo. First I replaced the rear speakers with Kenwood 6x4's. The lack of bass I solved by fitting a 'Bass-Booster' unit. Can't remember the make but I got it from Maplins the mail-order electronics co. It fitted really neatly under the rear seat. (If you want the exact details, e-mail me and I'll have a look at the unit when the wife gets back with the car!) This improved the bass response a lot, but you have to bias the sound towards the rear on the fader. When I fitted my multi-changer, the biggest problem was feeding the cable through from the head unit to the changer, particularly the bit from the dashboard, behind the ashtray/centre-console. I picked up the feed for the changer off the electric aerial and mounted the changer flat on the boot floor up behind the rear seats.I looked everywhere and couldn't find anywhere else to mount it. Hope this helps, Pete, Gloucester UK John Mason <john.mason2nopsamin.net> wrote in article <79l2d8$5u9$1nopsament3-gui.server.virgin.net>... > Next weekend I am about to fit a new Sony radio cassette header unit plus 10 > disc autochanger in place of a Blaupunkt radio cassette unit presently in > the car. > > There are four speakers already fitted -the front ones sound OK but the rear > are tiny and very low volume.
