As I posted, though, the 9-5 (in the US) is $8000 more than a 300M. Hardly shopped by the same folks, I'd guess. For 8k more, though, you don't get better performance OR mileage, and you get less room. The difference between an E320 and a 9-5 is about the same, or less, as the difference between the 9-5 and the 300M, by the way. A Volvo S70, on the other hand, is priced well below the 9-5 and is considerably faster. And I'll match Volvo's safety up against Saab's. (Last year, C/D ranked an S70 above a 9-5 in a comparison; they noted the Saab's handling was somewhat tricky at the limits.)
