Subject: replacing rear brake pads on 900

i wanted to replace the rear brake pads... because they were getting thin... i have the bentley repair manual... and followed the steps.... i turned the piston adjusting screw to move the piston in...... but when i tried to put the pads in they don't quite fit...... the manual suggests pushing the piston in with a pair of pliers.... but it just doesn't want to go in any more.... the piston adjustment screw won't turn anymore.... should i try to make it turn further...?. i have also tried to push the piston in with a large c clamp.... using a cloth to protect the piston...... it didn't seem to help any..... are the pads i have just to thick... to fit around the disc..... ? does anyone know what the thickness of the new pads should be...? or know of a way to push the piston in further? chris
