Subject: Re: 5W50 synthetic oil grade

I am NOT being fecetious when I ask why, then, Saab specifically calls for a 15W-50 or 20W-50 in new 9-3s if regularly driving them in temps above 60 degrees. What has changed? >He is saying that 50 grade oil is TOO heavy for a turbo charged engine. Not >that difficult is it? He is correct. Any 50 grade oil is too heavy for >even an OHC engine, let alone a turbo. One needs the thin(ner) oil to >lubricate quickly from cold, and also when hot. 50 grade might be >appropriate for an old pushrod engine but not today. I guess the ideal oil >for a Saab would rate something like a 0W-40 synthetic. Anyone who says you >can't use a synthetic in a Saab engine is lying. Saab actually market their >own Turbo spec oil. Funny old thing, its a synthetic. Go figure. > >-- >Spammers, here's some for you: fraudinfonopsamet.com >sweep.daynopsam.gov.au ucenopsamgov
