The problem with both the Audi and the beemers is that the room in them is pathetic. To my mind thw A4 is a waste of time as a practical car. The room in the back is barely good enough for large kids let alone adults. I noticed a similar thing when I had a Mercedes C180 as a hire car. It is as big as my 900 but the boot (trunk) is absolutely pathetic for such a big car, a complete waste of £23K. I have been in a diesel Passat and it was a very impressive car for a diesel, plenty or room well built and decently quick.
