Trouble shoot the car. It was told to me that my 90 SPG check engine was caused by something in the gas line. Either the filter, the pump, the line itself, the gasket on the tank, fumes can even cause the check engine light to come on. If your'e noticing it when you have heavy throttle, it is certainly something to do with the gas line. Do you notice any smell of gas, especially when the sunroof is open??? These are my "thoughts" and very inexpensive to prove wrong. Its worth a try. Oh yeah confirm the gas cap is good. My 2 Cents-
