Subject: 1988 900 Cab Turbo SPG Electrical

Twice now in the last 2 months - while idling at a light - the complete electrical system shut down for no apparent reason. Like someone hit a kill switch. Both time - just messing around with ignition - brakes - switches - car just started and I went on my way. I have noticed since then that the SAAB - GUARD alarm system is not functioning as before - that is 2 chirps - one for arm and one for on. Now I get only one chirp 20 seconds after door closes and never another - also the 4 second blinking has gone from the dash. According to the manual - if the one chirp option is selected (by the SAAB Technician) there will be no blink - but it is supposed to arm in 45 seconds. Both times I have had the electrical 'Kill" unfamiliar alarm systems sounds were detected.... Any ideas ?? Larry Stack
