I had a '91 900S Convertible with the automatic transmission. It hesitated on kickdown so much that I got in the habit of manually downshifting to second when I needed it. For passing on a 2-lane road, I downshifted, floored it, _then_ pulled out, so I got enough acceleration to get around the car ahead. On a hot day in the mountains, be careful of overheating. The transmission oil cooler is an oil-to-water cooler that dumps the excess heat into the radiator coolant. There is an oil-to-air cooler (little radiator, like the standard oil cooler, placed on the opposite side of the car behind the lower front bumper) available. I HIGHLY recommend you add that if it isn't already installed. I also wired one of the radiator fans with an override switch so I could turn it on manually when running at low speed on warm days. That delayed overheating... --------------------- John R.
