Is the sound similar to the noise that comes when you turn the steering to it´s max position and hold it there (sqweeek or bzzzzzz). That noise come from pressure regulator (fluid pressure has exceeded the limit and is beeing circulated though pressure regulator valve to the tank). If the sound appears only when turning the problem could be there (too "sensitive" valve). Before you do any bigger fixing make sure that there are no outer things affecting to the steering, like: wide wheels, something is stiff, wheel offset, camber angle... My -91 900 does not make any (steering) sounds (113kms/70kmiles). > There are no actual problems with the steering.
