I have seen many 94 NG900 with a body colored metal piece between the taillights. I think the SE had a red reflector in the middle until the 95 or 96 came out, when all models had the one taillight across the back. A few pre-NG 900 models had an optional reflector kit available for install in back of the license plate to connect the taillights. The 9-5 has this accessory currently.
