Subject: Should a ’87 900 handle better than a ’94?

I just bought a 94 900S. It seems to ride more like a crappy 89 Ford Taurus than my old 87 900 (I had a Taurus until I almost crashed it while driving in rain). The old one was completely original except for performance style shocks. (More stiff) The 94 feels like it is going to break loose on turns I could easily make with the old one without any fear. I don’t know the technical jargon but the car tends to feel like it is lifting on one side on hard turns. The old Saab felt like it was on rails. What could it be? --Missing the older one
