Whether you do the work yourself or have it done, strongly suggest the use of distilled water to do a final flush on your cooling system and to mix with the coolant. If you tap water is high in mineral content, those minerals can interact with the aluminum in the enging cause corrosion and head gasket problems. How do you know if your tap water has a high mineral content. Check coffee makers and showers for calcium build-up. One sure place to find out is the inside of your toilet tank. If you see heavy mineral deposits and or rust, use distilled water. The stuff only costs about $1 a gallon. A lot cheaper than a head gasket.
