Subject: Whining Noise????



On my 87 900 5 speed there is a high pitched, loud whining noise. The pitch
and loudness seems to be in direct relation to acceleration speed. When I
push in the clutch, the noise stops. I figure its something with the
transmission (genius!). I checked the gear oil level, and its fine. The car
has 100K miles. Any ideas? What are the consequences of not doing anything?
