I have an 86 900 T16 Its getting on a bit (194 000 Miles) and is giving me an intermittent problem on the maximum boost that can be obtained. OVer the winter the needle on the APC gauge has started to drop from recording a maximum value on the border of the orange and red zones to only swinging around about 3/4 of the orange zone. Now I have had the hooter valve replaced and can't find any obvious splits etc. What has me puzzled is that I can get full (or nearly full) boost occasionally. Before I take the thing in to get its plumbers nightmare system of tubing etc checked out can anyone suggest what it might be and what the solution should be. I've found that if I turn up with my Haynes and printouts from you helpful people out there my mechanic:- A: Treats me with a grudging amount of respect B: Dignifies me with a full explanation of what took the time and shows me the parts removed/replaced. C: The bills have dropped as he has a bit more of a clue and knows that I know how long or difficult things are going to be. So thanks to everyone who has helped me in the past or who may be able to assist in this one. Cheers Tony
