Subject: Re: should we buy an '86 saab?

Sure, why not! I have a 86 900S w/ 137,000mi on it. I haven't had very bad luck with it at all. The body is in excellent shape for a 13 year-old Wisconsin car [road salt, the death of any car around here]. I think that the 8 valve version was still offered in 86. If anything go for the 16 valve, N.A or Turbocharged version. The N.A. pulls/pushes more air through it w/ the extra valves and has the same fuel injection system as the turbo. My 86 isn't as spunky as my 93 Turbo, but it is still an absolute joy to drive. SAABs Rule!!! -- John D.
