Subject: 900 parking brakes? HELP!

Hey folks, this is my first post so glad to see you all. My question: I just replaced some ultra- corroded parking brake cables along with the front pads (on my early 80's Saab 900 with the front (Girling) parking brakes) and low and behold--the parking brake doesn't work! The brake cables seem adjusted right, I screwed the pistons on the calipers in all the way and still the *$% parking brakes don't work at all! The lever pulls up five or six clicks and the cables are very tight at that point but they have absolutely no effect on the brakes!! Did I screw in the pistons too far, or what?? HELP! Eli
