OK here is what my mechanic told me. First of all in theory it is possible, should be possible even in real. The first problem though is that you will loose the side-bag on the driver's seat. If you replace it you'll have to check with the insurance that your car is still insured. You have to be very CAREFULL with this, a friend of mine wanted his Audi A4 wagon to be redone in leather by an aftermarket company and wasn't allowed by his insurance because of the fact that he would loose the sidebag. Second there is the sight, the seat is indeed completely different from designer point of view (I saw them next to each other today at my dealer's). Indeed the seat in the 9-5 and 9-3 are the same. Have you checked with your dealer if there isn't another possibility ? If not I would change both of the front seats. That way it won't harm the view what so ever. Hope to have helped you a bit.
