I wouldn't mess with it without running a pressure guage under load (ie: driving) DO NOT rely on the dash guage as it's simply a vacuum guage and actually has little to do with boost pressure. I own the exact same car- 1987 900 3-door Turbo16, and I find just a good tune-up, 97octane gas and just a tad of advance on the timing gives plenty of power. Have you considered an Accelerated Tuning APC chip?
