I have a '92 900S convertible that I bought new that I have 69K miles on. I am about to put my fourth set of tires on it (and I ran separate snows for 3 years). All the tires wear the same way - the outside on the fronts wear down. The wear is noticeable within several thousand miles of being put on (and, yes, I have had the car aligned each time I had new sets put on). I have to admit that rotation isn't in my vocabulary but before I get yelled at for that - the one time I tried to be good about rotating a new set, the first time they were rotated the car shook like there was something major wrong but when the tires were put back everything was fine. My ride has never seemed to suffer from the lack of rotation - just my tread life. I'm just looking for any comments I can get: Does the 900S Conv. have a history of not being able to maintain an alignment? Do early 90's 900 Conv. always wear through tires like this and I should just expect it? Is there a particular brand/type of tire that people have found work better? (I'm non-turbo, total passenger car driving. Performance isn't much of an issue with me and snow isn't either.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. --== Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ ==-- ---Share what you know. Learn what you don't.---
