I'm on my second SAAB - an '88 900SPG bought used in '91 with 35k miles on the clock.... I've driven it hard for 145k miles and I still like it as much as the day I bought it. I've had to rebuild the 5 speed and the differential because of the torque of the turbo 16v but other than routine maintenance I have had no problems. The engine is still as strong as the day I bought it. I fully expect to run the car another 100k miles. When my Maserati project is finished I will restore the car... I couldn't buy better for 4 or 5 times the price. My first SAAB was a 99 bought new in '81 - my ex got the car when we divorced and took it back east to abuse on the potholes that they laughingly call roads back there. She managed to break the suspension (a wishbone, I think)... anyway, she finally sold the car to one of her friends who is restoring it. As far as I know that 8v 2 liter has never had the head removed and is a strong as ever - it must have near 300k miles by now. Tom
