After 126,000 miles I had the fuel line and injector cleaned on my 1990 SAAB 900 for the very first time. This was done by Pennske Automotives using 3 different bottles of stuff along with a little machine that was powered by the car battery. I am not mechanically inclined so I really couldn't describe what the guy was doing, nevertheless during the process, a lot of bad smelling smoke was generated. The end result? Man, I simply can't believe the tremendous change in performance of the car in terms of peppiness. In fact, I now like my car's performance so much that I was thinking there must be some good fuel additives out there which would prevent the build-up of this performance-robbing stuff in the first place. There seems to exist about a zillion of different products, therefore I thought I could benefit from the experiences of those who have experimented with injector and fuel cleaner additives in terms of getting some recommendations for something I could add to the gas tank perhaps every month/week/fill-up? By the way, the "Pennske treatment" costs around $60 on sale, and is recommended for every 30,000 miles or so. Thanks in advance. Ernie Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know.
