Ben, Here are some of the problems I've seen with APC systems: 1. The control unit is located just behind the left headlight, where it is exposed to water spray / snow / dust / etc. when driving. If you pull the connector off the bottom, you'll probably find water and/or corrosion in there. This of course causes bad connections, which can cause the system to malfunction. 2. The APC system has a boost-pressure sensor located under the dash. This sensor basically functions as a variable resistor that is dependent on boost pressure. Problem is, they develop "bad spots" in the resistance element, so they will go open-circuit at certain pressures. This fools the APC brain into thinking the boost is too high, and it reduces boost accordingly. 3. Less common problem: the APC system gets a signal from the brake-light circuit that causes the boost to be reduced when the brakes are applied. If the brake pedal or switch is misadjusted or worn or defective, this can cause the boost to drop unexpectedly. 4. The APC system is very sensitive to electrical interference. Misrouted wires can sometimes cause the system to malfunction. Make especially sure none of the high-tension ignition wires are near any APC components (like the coil lead running next to the solenoid valve). Saab even has a service bulletin on this, that involves rewiring the knock sensor, and a couple of other things. 5. The APC system is "dumb". It's not very good at distinguishing spark knock from other sounds in the engine, like noisy valve lifters. If your engine is making these type of noises, they can "fool" the APC system into reducing the boost. Good luck! I´d like to do the work by myself if possible. Skills should not be the problem, it´s rather that i´m short of experience with the 900T and as well short of a really good manual. I bought the Bentley manual lately, but from what i know by now, working on my little moody central locking wiring with it, it seems rather on the crappy side.... So the turbo was just a guess based on what other saab owners told me about their baby´s problems... : ) So before i start to take everything apart, i try to gather as much opinions and experiences as i can.....that´s something not even a good manual can provide you with...
