I suggest you disconnect the lead from the sensors that cause the light to go on, then reconnect the circuit bit by bit, you will find where it is shorting. Either that or the sensor is bad, but this should be 'easy' to test once you find it - when the light is on, test for continuity at the sensor, when there should be none, but the switch is closed - then that's your problem - if you didn't already find it in the wiring. I think the heat is just loosening something up.
