Subject: 9000 Handbrake question

Hi Been following this newsgroup for some time and now I have a question: Does the handbrake on the 9000 engange the front or the rear wheels? I have an 85 900i with 250000km and the ONLY (very slight) gripe I have is that the handbrake engages the front wheels. I had been used to using the handbrake as an last-resort skid-control thingy when the front wheels break out of curve in winter. I drive a LOT on snow and ice in the swiss alps... Now I am looking at a buying a used 9000 CD turbo 1992. Driven well, by what the dealer tells me - saw the car as it arrived at the dealer, engine still covered in a dust-film. Engine bone dry on outside - no leaks or even oil sweating. Not a speck of rust - looks a real beauty. Am a bit worried about buying on impulse and not really thinking it through... is 1992 a good year? Thanks for any feedback. Thanks for the excellent discussions and tips I've read on this group.
