Hi, Don't quite understand what you're experiencing here. Dashpots don't contain oil (a dashpot is the damper that sits _outside_ the carb (fore of the carb) to prevent NOx emission by slowing down throttle closure). Maybe you mean the damper oil resevoir in the centre of the carb - in which case you might be filling it up with too much oil - you always need room for the damper piston to fit. Could be that the fuel needle is improperly mounted (or lock screw damaged) and allowing oil to leak out, though I've never heard of that happening. In order to eliminate the "too much damper oil" theory, can you remove the blue damper cap (with damper), vacuum chamber cover, piston spring (the thing that looks like it could have been a slinky if it had grown a bit), and pull out the assembly containing the resevoir, carb needle, and rubber membrane. Wipe clean and let it stand upright overnight in a tall coffee mug. If there's no leakage, then you're home free (you were overfilling the damper oil resevoir. If you have a leakage, then you'll see what bit has to be refitted or replaced. Post again with more details if this doesn't help.
