Subject: Re: S80

We have an S80 that we bought in April from Demo stock, already 6 months old. It is not a T6. We have had no problems with it, and drove it from Portland Or to Detroit Mi last week with a full load (to the gills). Over 4k miles now and have not seen the paint or tranny problems. In Portland it was parked under sap dropping, bird roosting trees for the past two months. Paint is fine. It seems the tranny problems are confined to the T6, as are the other serious problems I read about in this NG. So, we are happy with the Volvo and would buy it again. I can't comment on the SAAB. My last experience with them was over a decade ago, but I do like them. As to the snow, if my BMW with traction control was up to a 30 mile commute in Detroit last winter, then I have no doubt about the Volvo in similar circumstances, esp with FWD. And SAABs have always been excellent snow cars as well. So my advice is get whichever you prefer and, in snow, drive carefully. -Mike Jim Brown wrote: > > My wife is thinking about buying a C70 or an S80 (new).
