Subject: Re: 9-5 Undercoating - Does it exits?

I noticed the same thing on my father's 9-5 and my 9-3. I questioned the dealer to ask him if the plant didn't forget to undercoat the cars... After having checked all the cars at the dealership and found the same thing, I was answered that is was new technique, using a kind of varnish (but black tar is still used locally). I was also told not to worry about: if the car has a 10-year warranty against rust, undercoating would have be done... BUT I've to say I'll keep my eye on it... :-) Scott A.
