About the airbags : in Belgium they have three levels of 9-3 : 1. The base, used to be called entry : no in dash radio, no passenger airbag, no velours,... 2. The 'normal' : airbags, radio, ... 3. The SE : leather, automatic airco, wooden dash, alloy wheels, ..... Indeed taxes are disgustingly high in Belgium and as Guy stated before : you are severely punished if you drive e.g. a Turbo. In Belgium it is on the contrary much better to drive a powerful 'diesel', ruin the environment and drive much cheaper then a normal fuel car.
