SAAB does in fact have the lowest rate of deaths/passenger_miles of any car sold in the USA. (Rates are for USA.) Volvo is a close second. Mercedes isn't even in the running for the top spot. I have never known why SAAB doesn't make more of this. I would like to know from where your data comes. Many people _think_ Volvo is the safest car(I've even heard people swear that no-one has ever died in a Volvo in the US, which isn't true) -- I've never heard anyone champion Mercedes that way. I looked these figures up on US gov't stats pages for 1994 to 1997 (don't recall which ones -- sorry) before buying a SAAB 9-5 sedan. (1998 stats weren't out yet.) -- Kirby Krieger [E-mail wrong -- don't use.] nutmeggernopsameja.com wrote in message <7op0q7$3u9$1nopsam1.deja.com>... >In article <7oo9pi$ka1$1nopsam1.deja.com>, > werdna_dejanewsnopsameja.com wrote: > >> >> Other points: Saabs are some of the least stolen cars in the US. >> (BMW's are, literally, over 10 times likely to get stolen.)
