Well, my data is from http://www.carsafety.org/ictl/ictl.htm They rank things by index (lower is better, 100 is average): Saab 900, with injury index of 63 and theft index of 10 is the lowest of the midsize four-door cars. Mercedes C class comes in at an injury index of 101. It's true that Big cars have lower injury indexes, but the Mercedes E-class's index is still 67. Mercedes S class is 42, but that's a huge car... A theft index of 10 is amazingly low. The only car that comes close is the Subaru Impreza, at 17. For comparison, the Toyota land cruiser is the holder of the high at 2326. The Honda accord comes in at 202... I guess nobody steals Saabs because there's too little a market for parts. I also think it fazes some thiefs that Saabs have the ignition in the center console, locking the gear shift into reverse. You're right about Saab's sacrificing their lives, though. Collision indexes (cost of fixing the car after an accident) are quite high for the 9-3... -- Andrew Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
