The 2.0 has very tall gears to limit fuel consumption. Especially on slopes fifth and even fourth may be to tall to keep up speed. Remember, you're in a 1400+kg car (your car + you + passenger + luggage). Also constantly driving full-throttle can't be good for your car, when it's in it's run-in period.
