Subject: Re: CD not working / Radio does

I had my CD changer "disappear" in my 96 900SE...the radio was working fine, but when I pushed the CD button, nothing... Apparently this is as known fault with the radio's computer, and if it's still on warranty you can get a replacement...What happens is the computer sometimes doesn't "find" the cd changer, and from then on, tells the radio the car is not CD equipped...what you need to do is clear the computer's memory thus... Disclaimer: I'm not a mechanic or an expert, I'm just relaying my dealer's (Burlingame, CA Saab) solution as best I can, FYI... 1. make sure you have your radio's security code 2. Turn on car and radio 3. Remove the fuse for the radio (located on left corner of dash inside of driver's door) 4. turn off car and then restart... radio won't work 5. Turn off car, replace fuse, restart...you've cleared the computer's memory, so the cd MAY be back...we had to repeat this proceedure TWICE for it to work... My cd player has been ok since, but the changer has now crapped out, so I'm going back with that under my arm...gonna try and swap out for an in-dash model... Bon Chance...
