Hello, I also have a 1986 900S and a Volvo too. I find the 900S pretty underpowered but have found a few things that have made a difference. First I changed the fuel filter right after I bought the car. Huge difference. Next I switched to synthetic oil and had the engine flushed at the same time. Not a huge jump in power or anything but definately smoother. I have ordered a K&N replacement air filter for the car that should get here next week. I will post my findings with this but have been told that it makes for a few more horses. As far as exhaust goes, I am having a free flow system installed next month. Unfortunately this gets rid of the catalytic converter, it is being done by a local shop here for 300 Canadian. Not too bad. All in all I love the car and have just been trying to give it a bit more oooomph. Hope that helps Rodel
