Do you know how hard that is??? Especially depending upon her area. I also question the fact that they may not be as updated about all the Tech Service Bulletins that Saab issues about weird little problems.....well I suppose some aren't little. > Often these specialists have a yard alongside the garage full of old >Saabs they use for parts - which enables them to do cheaper repairs. HEY!! You said he or she, and I'm wondering if there are any women Saab Techs, somehow I doubt it, but that would be cool. >In London UK the independent Saab specialists > charge between a quarter and a half of what the franchised dealers >charge, depending on the part or job. I agree, not many Techs know what the hell they are doing when it comes to working on Saab's, you have to find a good one, and that is the way to go and save lots of money. Don't forget these guys are professionals, not your average back-yard mechanic. >I use two guys in London that are excellent and cheap, one of whom I >found through this ng, You found a Tech through this NG??? Andy Well Andy, women have to be more careful because lots of men just talk down to them about car matters, and some even try to sell work that isn't really needed, so it helps to know as much about your car as you can and just like anything else if you are in doubt....get a second opinion!
