When inquiring about lengthening the timing of the automatic hatch lock I was told that it could be turned off but that it would also effect some other changes in the central locking system. If I recall, those would be that everything would lock (doors and hatch) upon reaching 2 mph and that the two step unlocking (drivers door first) wouldn't function anymore being a change to one action. There might have been another "packaged" change too. Needless to say I just left it all as it was since I don't like the idea of opening everything every time for security reasons... What would be nice to see is the hatch button on the remote removed so that a third click would open that without having to shift finger position, and if the doors were open it would sense that and just open the hatch. Hopefully that wouldn't cause the size of the remote to grow more :)
