Dear Mr Turbospg, I am understanding the principal of water injection to be not the same as yours - it is the presence of the water in the air fuel mixture which turns to steam in the combustion chamber thus absorbing the heat not the direct cooling effect of a spray of water onto the airstream as heat exchange effect like an intercooler. Therefore where the water enters the engine is not so important yes. Werner
