What year, David? Late '80s - early '90s 9000's are prone to develop a very slight coolant leak in the heater core. Suppose the smell depends on the brand of antifreeze you use, I thought mine smelled like crumb donuts <g>. You should verify asap if the smell is in fact coolant, as the coolant drips into the blower motor and will eventually cause it to fail (I learned this the hard way).
