Subject: DIY 9-5 Audio upgrade?

Anyone tried adding an additional amp to drive a pair of parcel shelf speakers on an AS2 audio equipped 9-5? I have bought a pair of Pioneer 9x7 speakers that fit the parcel shelf holes precisely. The car doesn't appear to be pre-wired for them, though I would love to be corrected <g>. I have discovered through much searching on the net, that the amplifier for the head unit is situated to the right of the drivers feet (on a RHD car), and that the head unit provides Line level outputs, though only through the Saab custom connector. I want to take that line level output, split it, and drive an additional amplifier that I have purchased, for the rear parcel shelf speakers. So far, I have been too chicken to tap into the cable (warranty implications etc), but would not be averse to actually connecting the phono cable to the internals off the Saab connector. That is, I would not be averse to doing it, if anyone else had successfully tried this!!!! Anyone here had a go? Simon Watkins
